For many years the Breakers have kept prices as low as they possibly could and it is still our desire to do this, however, in the past we have put ourselves into a hole that we just cannot afford any longer.
So what do I get for the money I am putting into the Breakers?
Your fees go into covering the costs of:
Refs – did you know that refs cost between 50-80 dollars per ref, and many games require two refs. 50 is MS and 80 is Varsity.
Gym fees – in order to have a gym to play volleyball, basketball and some conditioning in we have a fee we pay per use. The cost of a gym is roughly $1200.00 a month.
Oh but my sport doesn’t use a gym? That’s ok, there is a fee that we pay for the use of a practice field for the girls soccer team. Not to mention that we have had to use PAAC for our home field, which is $100.00 each time we use it.
Baseball $85.00 for the use of a field from the pony leagues.
This fee also covers the cost of uniforms. Over the years we had good intentions of buying uniforms and many wondered why we didn’t, at the price we were charging to play we could not afford new uniforms. Intentions were good but reality and good intentions never met up.
This also gives you a family pass into all home games. In the past we had a gate fee that everyone paid to watch a game. Included in your fee now is a pass to all home games. We want as many fans in the stand cheering for the Breakers as possible, so bring the whole family.
New game balls, practice balls, nets, any new equipment that is needed. Score books, rule books, etc…
There are also trophy costs.
A small compensation to the coaches who volunteer their time to your kids for about 4 nights a week throughout the sports season.
When you put all of this together you find that we are not getting rich off of your fee’s and that it just scratches the surface of what it costs to keep the Breakers rolling as a quality organization. We still are asking the teams to do two fundraisers a season to help offset the costs that the fee’s don’t cover.
